Macaulay Culkin Steps Out, Looks Healthy and Happy at Comic-Con

By    |   Monday, 14 October 2013 05:45 PM EDT

Bearded, grinning, and sporting pink, fuzzy animal ears, a very healthy-looking Macaulay Culkin appeared at Comic-Con on Friday and allayed fears that he was ill or addicted.

Last year, photos of an extremely thin and gaunt Culkin published by ET Online caused many to speculate that the grown up “Home Alone” star might be sick or fighting drug addictions.

Today, at 33, Culkin has kept a low profile in the entertainment world after he announced his movie retirement at age 14 (making only one movie after that). He provides the voices for characters on the Adult Swim show "Robot Chicken" and was on a panel at Comic-Con for the television series, said the New York Daily News.

Culkin is one of the better-known child actors, even after all these years. His agape expression in “Home Alone” is one most movie-goers of the time will remember.

When rumors persisted about Culkin’s health, his rep told E! Online in 2012 that Culkin didn’t have a drug problem and that the idea was “not only categorically without merit” but “impossibly and ridiculously fictitious.” Which cleared up absolutely nothing.

However, his healthy smiling appearance seems to have laid the rumors to rest. For a little while.

His filled-out appearance quickly made the social media rounds.
