A live microphone captured Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine declaring, "I hate this country" on Tuesday night's episode of NBC's "The Voice."
Levine, a co-host on "The Voice," made the comment during the top 8 results portion of the competitive singing show, in which voters cut two of his team members — Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons. Levine's other team member, country singer Amber Carrington, was "saved by America."

Twitter users and fans of the show quickly picked up on Levine's unpatriotic choice of words.
Some speculated that Levine was simply reacting to America voting his two frontrunners off the show. Others posited that he was saying he disliked country as in country music.
Either way, Levine took to Twitter to dismiss the conjecture with a series of dictionary definitions.
