Middleton, 31, was spotted last week in the high-end London fabric store Bernard Thorp & Co. shopping for the royal baby's nursery, while the 32-year-old Kardashian is keeping up by planning for renovations to home and nursery.
When the time comes, each baby's arrival will be announced on Twitter, according to Hollywoodlife.com.
One noticeable difference between the two maternal women is how they appear in public. The web site noted that Kardashian had been seen in tight outfits, while Middleton has gone with loose and flowy clothing.
The living arrangements for each child vary as well. Middleton is furnishing an apartment at Kensington Palace for her first child with Prince William, while splitting her time between their Welsh home and London's Nottingham Cottage, according to an Us Weekly report.
Meanwhile, Kardashian and baby daddy Kanye West are building an $11 million mansion, complete with a lavish nursery. She is living in the guest house on the property of her mother, Kris Jenner, while she waits.
Kardashian also has to deal with considerably more controversy, especially in light of
recent allegations that West cheated on her with model Leyla Ghobadi, who claims they had an ongoing affair that started in 2012.
West denied the affair.
"
This most recent attack on Kanye West and his family is totally without merit," a West representative told TMZ.com on Wednesday. "It's a blatant attempt by a misguided individual who is clearly seeking publicity, and another in a series of malicious stories drummed up by non-credible 'news' sources. This is a sad attempt to hurt two people trying to live their lives."
With regard to the respective babies, Internet fans have weighed in on the question of who will enter the world first.
According to a survey of 2,345 American adults released by Harris Interactive, 26 percent believe Middleton will give birth first, compared to 15 percent for Kardashian. The remaining 59 percent remained noncommittal, answering that they weren't sure.
