John Clark Gable, the 52-year-old son of Hollywood legend Clark Gable, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of DUI after slamming into six parked cars in Malibu.

Gable was reportedly driving a white Ford pickup along the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu pier Tuesday afternoon when he rear-ended a car. Witnesses said Gable then attempted to flee the scene but subsequently smashed into six more parked cars.

The motorist who was first hit called 911. When police arrived, they booked Gable on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and a hit-and-run, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"The police guy opened the door for his truck and was telling him to get out of his truck," witness Geno Bahena told CNN affiliate KTLA. "It took him a few seconds to get out of his truck and then finally when he got out I guess he was in shock or something… He just fell on the floor."

No one was injured in the crashes.

This isn't the first time the "Gone With the Wind" actor's son has been in the news. Last year, John Clark Gable's 41-year-old girlfriend was found dead in the couple's home. Christiane Candice Lange, a celebrity make-up artist, was found unresponsive but there were no signs of foul play. She is believed to have overdosed on prescription drugs.

Another Clark Gable relative has also had some skirmishes with the law.

In 2011, Clark Gable III, the actor's then-22-year-old grandson, served 10 days in jail after being accused of pointing a laser beam inside the cockpit of a Los Angeles police helicopter. Gable's manager insisted the incident was an accident.

"Boys will be boys, and he was playing with what he thought was a toy and not a felony piece," Roxane Davis, the manager, told CNN at the time. "From what he told me from jail, he had it out the window, and he was shining it out the window, and the next thing he knew was that he had a spotlight on him."

Clark Gable, once dubbed the King of Hollywood, died in 1960. John Clark Gable was born four months after his father's death, according to CNN.
