A hero cat that chased away a dog attacking a boy in Southwest Bakersfield, California, Tuesday is an Internet star after a video of the whole ordeal went viral.
In the video clip, featured below, we see the 4-year-old boy on his tricycle in his driveway savagely attacked by a dog that, without warning, runs up to the child and latches onto his leg, pulling him off the bike and shaking his body as he drags him toward the street.

But within two seconds of when the attack was initiated, the family cat — a tabby named "Tara" — runs from the house and throws her body into the dog, knocking the animal back and forcing it to release its grip on the child's leg.
But the cat wasn't finished.
The tabby then proceeded to chase the dog around the car until the canine runs out of the camera's view.
"My cat defends my son during a vicious dog attack and runs the dog off before he can do additional damage," Roger Triantafilo, the boy's father, captioned the
video on YouTube. "Thankfully, my son is fine!"
The boy's mother, Erica Triantafilo, said the boy was taken to a local hospital where he received 10 stitches on his leg for the bite,
KernGoldenEmpire.com reported. The child is said to be recovering at home.
According to Triantafilo, the dog has since been quarantined by her neighbors.
The remarkable video captured on surveillance cameras has since gone viral and is even being shared in a series of still shots on Twitter.
