Camille Cosby's "victory lap" comments sparked outrage after the sexual assault trial against her husband, entertainer Bill Cosby, in Pennsylvania ended in a hung jury Saturday, The Wrap reported.

A Montgomery County jury could not come to a unanimous decision on three charges of aggravated indecent assault against the comedian and former star of "The Cosby Show" after six days. Prosecutors had charged that he assaulted former Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2015, Variety noted.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said that he will retry Cosby for the charges. After the trial, Camille Cosby issued a blistering statement that was read outside the courtroom after Montgomery County District Judge Steven O'Neill declared a mistrial.

The statement, in which Camille Cosby called the district attorney "heinously and exploitively ambitions," also was released in its entirety on Twitter.

"The statement comes despite the fact that Steele had already said he intends to re-try Bill Cosby on the same charges," noted The Wrap writer Ross A. Lincoln. "That, and the fact that the statement's tone was interpreted by many as something of a victory lap led to social media users blasting Camille Cosby for everything from perceived insensitivity to victims of sexual assault, to outright collusion with Bill Cosby."

Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s longtime spokesman, appeared to fan the flames as well when he added: "Mr. Cosby's power is back. It’s back," The Washington Post reported.

Many spoke out about Camille Cosby's statement through Twitter.
