Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s father, is struggling to come to terms with his daughter’s death after the 22-year-old spent the last six months unresponsive.
The R&B singer and former husband of Whitney Houston admitted he is
“completely numb,” according to USA Today. “Krissy was and is an angel,” he said. "My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable. We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”
Christopher Brown, Bobby Brown’s attorney, issued a statement reiterating his client’s grief.
“Krissy fought to get well for months, however she has
succumbed to her injuries,” he announced, ABC News reported.
Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, found her facedown and unconscious in a bathtub in her late mother’s Georgia home in late January. She had been unresponsive since and was moved to a hospice in June. The girl’s family is now pursuing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Gordon, who they believe is responsible for their daughter’s condition and for stealing money from her bank account. The family also banned Gordon from visiting Bobbi Kristina in the last few months of her life.
Bobby Brown is just one among the many mourning Bobbi Kristina’s death.
Gordon issued a statement through his mother, Michele Gordon, lamenting his girlfriend’s death.
"The passing of Bobbi Kristina is devastating to Nick and our family," Michele Gordon announced, according to USA Today. "Nick loved and cared for Krissi (sic) deeply, and he has suffered greatly each and every day they've been apart. Nick and our family are in mourning, and we ask that you respect our privacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Houstons and the Browns during this difficult time."
Cissy and Pat Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother and aunt, announced her death on the Whitney Houston Facebook page on Sunday. The post has been shared more than 190,500 times:
"She is finally at peace in the arms of God," the Houstons told USA Today. "We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."
Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston’s cousin, was featured on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” on the night of Bobbi Kristina’s death.
"She was a sweetheart, she will be missed — she was a good girl," the singer told host Andy Cohen. “It's not easy. It's (manageable) because of our faith that Bobbi is with a much bigger and more powerful person, or thing, that she's in much better hands now."
