Bigfoot exists and has left footprints to prove it, according to one resident of Dulce, a small town in New Mexico also ripe with claims of UFO sightings.
“I do believe there is a mystical creature out there that nobody knows about,” Tim Anderson told
The Santa Fe New Mexican. “I believe there is something out there. One of these days, somebody will find something.”
Anderson made casts of what he claims are two separate Bigfoot footprints. He also spotted a UFO while working as a police officer in the 1990s.
“It lit up the whole valley and just disappeared into the rocks,” he told the newspaper. “I just rubbed my eyes. ‘Did I really see that?’ ”
Anderson isn't the only Dulce resident to claim strange sightings. Many in the capital of the Jicarilla Apache Nation have seen and photographed flying saucers and other unidentified flying objects, the Fe New Mexican reported.
“The whole town of Dulce, whoever you want to talk to, they’ll tell you what they’ve seen — a lot of them,” said Geraldine Julian, 78, who has had multiple UFO sightings since the 1960s. “It’s not just a fairy tale. All the things are true, and I believe every last one of them, too, because I’ve seen it myself.”
Some believe aliens work with the government at a secret underground base near Dulce, which has drawn attention from well-known ufologist John Lear and was featured on the History Channel’s "UFO Hunters."
The town is making the most of its oddities, with a local eatery selling a “Sasquatch Burger,” a casino gift shop selling a T-shirt reading “I got probed at Dulce Base.” Local nonprofit Apache Indigenous Defenders Inc. is hosting a Dulce Base UFO Conference May 14-15 with speakers and presenters, guided tours and a UFO run, according to the
New Mexico Tourism Department.
Meanwhile, Bigfoot enthusiasts will gather at Salt Fork State Park in eastern Ohio for the Ohio Bigfoot Conference May 13-15, featuring Cliff Barackman of Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot," according to
WSYX-TV.
The Bigfoot Field Research Organization has logged 266 incident reports from Ohio, the station reported.
