Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., recently said that the billionaire Koch brothers are "un-American." For daring to speak out against against Obamacare, Reid said “It’s too bad that they're trying to buy America, and it's time that the American people spoke out against this terrible dishonesty of these two brothers who are about as un-American as anyone I can imagine."
In September 2012, President Obama’s campaign issued a fundraising email attacking Sheldon Adelson, another conservative billionaire. That email by David Axelrod, Obama’s campaign manager, said: “We don’t have Sheldon Adelson, and with all due respect, we don’t want him.”
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee was forced to apologize in 2012 for making “Unsubstantiated allegations that attacked Sheldon Adelson, a supporter of the opposing party," and "This was wrong. The statements were untrue and unfair, and we retract them."
These billionaires employ tens of thousands of Americans, donate hundreds of millions of dollars to philanthropic (nonpolitical) causes, and they are attacked as un-American?
These private citizens who are among the most prominent executives and philanthropists are attacked by the most powerful man in the world, and his allies for opposing the Democratic Party and exercising their democratic rights? This is what Obama’s America has come to.
Those who support conservative issues are viciously attacked by the ruling government and the media. It’s just awful, unfair and brutal. It’s among the many difference between the right and the left — the right admires and respects hard-working executives, while the left is jealous, hurts and attack, and fundamentally believes as Obama said, “You didn’t build that.”
Liberals and their media allies skewer brave patriots in a way that George Soros, labor unions and countless academic institutions have never faced.
The Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson are American patriots who should be celebrated for celebrating so many great American causes. From free enterprise to supporting American troops to helping the arts, America should thank these men.
