Voters are divided over whether President Donald Trump is doing enough to help recovery from Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana, Politico reports.

  • Trump is doing enough: 43 percent.
  • Trump isn't doing enough: 40 percent.
  • No opinion: 17 percent.

The responses were split down party lines, with barely one out of five Democrats saying they approved of Trump's efforts, while almost three out of four Republicans said he is doing enough. Voters had a less positive view of Congress' response to the disaster.

  • Congress is doing enough: 29 percent.
  • Congress is not doing enough: 43 percent.
  • No opinion: 28 percent.

Voters were much more likely to rate the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Texas state government, or the American Red Cross as "doing enough" in response to the disaster than Congress or Trump.

  • FEMA is doing enough: 56 percent.
  • FEMA is not doing enough: 24 percent.
  • Texas' government is doing enough: 65 percent.
  • Texas is not doing enough: 17 percent.
  • The Red Cross is doing enough: 73 percent.
  • Not doing enough: 16 percent.

Although his job approval rating rose slightly, the majority of voters still disapprove of his performance.

  • Approve of Trump's job performance: 40 percent.
  • Disapprove: 52 percent.

The poll, from Politico and Morning Consult, surveyed 1,993 registered voters from Aug. 31-Sept. 3, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
