A Hillary Clinton supporter introducing the Democratic presidential frontrunner at a rally stumbled over her introduction of Clinton, omitting the words "under God" in a reference to the Pledge of Allegiance, Mediaite reports.
"Only Hillary can bring us together, as one nation," said Susan Shin Angulo. She then looked down at notes before stretching out, "unnnn." Angulo stopped herself and moved on to say, "indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!"
Someone in the crowd shouted out "Under God!" as Clinton smiled.
The phrase "under God" was added to the pledge in 1954 at the suggestion of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Some on the left would like the phrase removed, fearing it constitutes a government endorsement of religion, but Clinton has said she favors keeping the phrase.
