Trump Brushes Off Manafort Indictment, Asserts 'No Collusion'

By    |   Monday, 30 October 2017 10:55 AM EDT

President Donald Trump brushed off any connection between his presidential campaign and the multiple indictments levied Monday against his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and an associate, Rick Gates, tweeting that it happened "years ago."

Manafort was indicted on 12 counts, including conspiracy against the United States, money laundering, false statements, among others.

The indictments are the fruit of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in last year's election and the beginning of what promises to be lengthy proceedings.
