President Donald Trump blasted James Comey saying the fired FBI director's testimony offered "many false statements and lies."
In a morning tweet, Trump also said he was vindicated by Comey's testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee and called him "a leaker."
Comey on Thursday told the Senate panel Trump and others in the administration had lied when they said FBI agents had lost confidence in him, The New York Times reported.
"Those were lies, plain and simple," Comey said in his opening remarks.
Comey also disclosed he had personally planned the leak of his account of a private conversation he had with Trump. Comey claimed Trump asked him to drop the probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn during the talk.
