Ted Nugent Reloads, Compares Obamacare to Nazism

By    |   Monday, 24 February 2014 06:08 PM EST

Rocker Ted Nugent has apologized for calling President Barack Obama a "subhuman mongrel," but he hasn't let up on policies he doesn't like – including the Affordable Care Act.

Appearing on Dennis Miller's radio show on Monday, Nugent defended the use of terms such as "jackbooted thug" against the administration.

"The guy, he's just a horribly inept civil servant," Miller told Nugent. "He's just the guy in the toll booth who keeps giving back too much change to people, and I'll be glad when he’s out of there, but he’s not a Nazi."

Nugent replied that he doesn't think Obama is Adolf Hitler, but added that the Nazis were able to achieve their agenda through incrementalism.

"And I think that’s what Obamacare is, that’s what I think most of what he represents," Nugent said. "The IRS — I really believe that what we see with the IRS can be compared accurately and historically to the early maneuvers of people like jackbooted thugs, like the Brownshirts [Nazi Storm Troopers]. I really believe that and I think that you are being too soft on them."

Republican Texas gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott dropped Nugent from campaign appearances last week after reports surfaced of his comments about Obama. CNN's Wolf Blitzer found Nugent's comments particularly offensive, saying that "subhuman mongrel" was the same terminology used by Nazis to justify killing millions of Jews.
