A planning whiteboard in Steve Bannon's White House office was made public in a photo posted to Twitter Tuesday evening, and the writing on it reveals what President Donald Trump's administration is trying to accomplish.
Bannon, Trump's chief strategist, met with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach at the White House this week. Boteach posted this image of the pair in front of Bannon's whiteboard:
Some of the items, such as "End 'Catch and Release'" and "Triple the Number of ICE Agents," have checkmarks next to them. Others like "Suspend the Syrian Refugee Program" have checkmarks too, but that effort was put on hold by the courts following the two executive orders on travel Trump signed.
The first item on the list is "Repeal and Replace Obamacare." House Republicans attempted to do that in March but a planned vote on the Obamacare replacement bill, the American Health Care Act, was canceled at the last minute due to a lack of support. The chamber is scheduled to vote on a revised version of the bill Thursday.
Other notable items on Bannon's list that are partially obscured by him in the photo seem to be about defeating the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group, moving the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and the Iran nuclear deal.
Boteach mentioned a Twitter account in his tweet who he purportedly thought belonged to Bannon, but the account actually belongs to someone else.
