GOP Obamacare repeal bill holdout Sen. Rand Paul charged Monday that compromise efforts are focused on trying "to buy the votes" of skeptical senators rather than reducing Obamacare spending.

In remarks to CNN's "The Lead," the Kentucky Republican said he remains a firm "no" on the Graham-Cassidy bill, despite his pledge Sunday to support the legislation if it reduced block grant spending to pre-Obamacare levels.

"They are going in the opposite way," he said. "They are trying to make adjustments to buy the votes of certain senators by giving them more money for their states. … They keep the Obamacare spending and reshuffle it, that's not repeal, that basically to me is just sort of keeping it and sending the money to different places."

"It hurts me deep inside to think of voting for a trillion dollars Obamacare tax and spending I'm opposed to," he added.
