Donald Trump's running mate Mike Pence has withdrawn his name from the list of attendees at a high-level donor summit this weekend hosted by the Koch brothers.
According to CNN, Pence was scheduled to attend when he was serving only as Indiana's governor. But now that he's Trump's vice presidential candidate, Pence is traveling the country on the campaign trail.
"When he was governor, he was committed," Pence spokesman Marc Lotter told CNN. "Since we can't give them a 100 percent commitment to say yes, it would be inappropriate to leave them hanging."
One of Pence's strengths is that
he's well connected to the world of wealthy Republican donors. He has attended several Koch events over the years, reports CNN.
Pence is already working in a fundraising role,
urging people on Facebook to spend $200 to receive a cache of campaign goodies.
