White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on Wednesday promised to get rid of leaks coming out of the White House.
"I know I'm in a cesspool called Washington, or a swamp called Washington, so it will be virtually impossible to get rid of every leak, but I think we can take dramatic steps," he told Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Scaramucci, who was hired last week on the same day White House press secretary Sean Spicer announced his resignation, said he has discovered senior members of the administration were asking junior members to "leak for them."
"I'm very proud to be reporting to the president so that I can hermetically seal off the [communications] team from this sort of nonsense," he said.
Scaramucci, who made the same oath Sunday on Fox News, will meet with his team next week to discuss the issue.
President Donald Trump has taken measures to contain leaks coming out of the White House, and has railed against leaks and leakers since he took office.
