Jared Kushner — a key adviser and son-in-law of President Donald Trump — met with special counsel Robert Mueller's team this month about the investigation into Russian meddling, CNN reported Wednesday.

Kushner was asked about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who is a focus of the probe, CNN quoted two sources. One said Flynn was the main focus of the meeting.

Asked by CNN for comment, Kushner's lawyer Abbe Lowell, said only that "Mr. Kushner has voluntarily cooperated with all relevant inquiries and will continue to do so."

The meeting took less than 90 minutes one source said, and involved Kushner clearing up questions he was asked by lawmakers and other details reported in the press.

One of the sources said the main reason for the meeting to ensure Kushner did not have information that would exonerate Flynn, who is believed to be negotiating a plea deal for his testimony.

CNN earlier reported Kushner will speak behind close doors next week to the House Intelligence Committee. Fox News reported the testimony will be Dec. 6.
