Hillary Campaign Raises $2.4 Million Off 'Woman Card'

Hillary Clinton's campaign is reporting it raised $2.4 million so far off of sales of its "Woman Card" — a response to Republican front-runner Donald Trump saying she is doing well only because of her gender.

ABC News' Liz Kreutz tweeted out the number on Monday.

Trump told supporters after last week's primary victories that the only thing the Democratic front-runner has going for her "is the woman's card," adding, "if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don't think she'd get 5 percent of the vote."

Clinton responded, "If fighting for women’s health care and paid family leave and equal pay is playing the woman card, then deal me in."

Her campaign printed up pink "Woman Cards" for sale on its website for $5.

The effort also included "Deal me in" T-shirts and a card deck with statistics such as, "Only 5 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs are women," The New York Times reports.

Clinton's campaign also reported it raised more money that her competitor Sen. Bernie Sanders for the first time in several months. The total income for April was $26.4 million, the Times reported, with 127,000 donations from 118,000 donors coming in from "woman's card" merchandise.

Forty percent of those donors had not previously given to the campaign.
