Donald Trump is gaining on Hillary Clinton, according to voters in an NBC News/ SurveyMonkey poll
In the online poll of 12,969 registered voters conducted May 23 to 29:
- 47 percent of the poll’s voters would vote for Hillary Clinton.
- 45 percent of the poll’s voters would vote for Donald Trump.
Since NBC News and SurveyMonkey's May 24 poll
, Trump has gained two points while Clinton gained one point.
NBC News released the poll result in a tweet from The Today Show:
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is faring better than Clinton in a hypothetical match-up against Trump. Politico reported that he is leading 52 percent to Trump's 40 percent in a another NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll.
Trump is gaining on Clinton in other polls, as well. A report on multiple polls by RealClearPolitics
showed Trump within one point of Clinton.
