Trayvon Martin's brother, Jahvaris Fulton, who testified in the highly publicized case, is serving as an intern in the office of Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla.,
NBC reports.
The 22-year-old is a student at Florida International University majoring in information technology and is working in Wilson's Miami Gardens office.
According to Wilson's office, Fulton also is a member of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, which was created 20 years ago by Wilson. It is a drop-out prevention and mentoring program for at-risk boys in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Fulton spent a short time testifying during the George Zimmerman murder trial. Observers
noted his appearance on the stand was likely intended by the prosecution to show the family in a positive light to reinforce the message that Martin was not a menacing figure who would have likely attacked Zimmerman.
