Trayvon Martin's Brother Interning at Florida Congresswoman's Office

Trayvon Martin's brother, Jahvaris Fulton, who testified in the highly publicized case, is serving as an intern in the office of Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., NBC reports.

The 22-year-old is a student at Florida International University majoring in information technology and is working in Wilson's Miami Gardens office.

According to Wilson's office, Fulton also is a member of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, which was created 20 years ago by Wilson. It is a drop-out prevention and mentoring program for at-risk boys in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Fulton spent a short time testifying during the George Zimmerman murder trial. Observers noted his appearance on the stand was likely intended by the prosecution to show the family in a positive light to reinforce the message that Martin was not a menacing figure who would have likely attacked Zimmerman.
