Trump Organization lawyer Michael Cohen on Tuesday denied a summary of unsubstantiated reports that he had secretly met with Russian officials last year that was included in classified information presented to President-elect Donald Trump last week.
Cohen, the company's executive vice president, said on Twitter:
The summary was included as an addendum to a report on Russian hacking during the November election which U.S. intelligence officials briefed Trump on last week, according to various news reports.
According to the information, compiled by a retired British intelligence officer who has credibility with American officials, Cohen met with Kremlin officials in Prague last August in an effort to prevent information about any possible Trump ties to the Kremlin.
Trump has also slammed the report, by CNN and other news outlets as "fake news."
