"Your World with Neil Cavuto," Ayotte spoke out against Trump for saying Arizona Sen. John McCain, a prisoner of war in Vietnam, is not a war hero.
"I think John is a true American hero," she said.
When asked by host Neil Cavuto whether she would support Trump if wins the nomination, Ayotte replied, "I also don't believe in the end that he's going to be our nominee."
"But you would support him if he were?" Cavuto pressed.
"You know, I don't support what he has done and I don't think he will be our nominee. So I don't think I'll have to worry about supporting him," Ayotte said.
Cavuto later asked former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, one of Trump's presidential rivals who has been trading barbs with the billionaire businessman, whether he would support Trump if he is nominated.
"There's a lot of people that are going to be, I think have a better chance of being our nominee before Donald Trump," Perry said. "I'm a Republican. I'm going to support the Republican nominee. And Donald Trump's got a long way to go to make people really believe he's a conservative. … Come on. Single-payer health care and he's running as a Republican?"
