More women voters think Mitt Romney understands their issues than President Barack Obama does, according to a
new poll from The Hill.
The survey shows that 46 percent of likely women voters think the presumptive GOP presidential nominee better understands their issues, while 41 percent think Obama better understands them.
When it comes to men and women together, Obama has a slight lead, with 42 percent of total likely voters saying he understands women’s issues better, compared to 40 percent for Romney, The Hill reports. But that’s well within the poll’s 3 percentage point margin of error.
Pulse Opinion Research conducted poll of 1,000 likely voters on April 19 for The Hill.
On the issue of which party is better for women, Democrats and Republicans are virtually tied, with 42 percent of total likely voters choosing the GOP and 41 percent choosing the Democratic Party, according to The Hill.
The female vote will be crucial in the November election, as there are more women than men in the United States, and women vote in larger percentages than men.
