Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's favorability rating has jumped 7 points in the past two weeks in the latest Gallup poll, with nearly all of his support coming from men.

Trump has the approval of 63 percent of the 1,000 adults who identified themselves as Republicans in the two weeks ending on Tuesday, Gallup said on Friday.

In addition, the billionaire businessman's disapproval rating has fallen five points in the two-week period, to 31 percent.

However, Trump has a 14-point gender gap: 68 percent approval among men versus 54 percent for women.

"Trump's positive image among Republicans owes much to his strength among GOP men," Gallup said in its analysis.

The developer shares that gender gap with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker among the 17 Republican candidates assessed in the latest Gallup poll.

Walker's favorability is 51 percent for men, compared with 37 percent among women.
Here's how several other candidates fared:
  • Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal: an 11 percent gap (42-31 percent men).
  • Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul: 10 percent gap (46-36 percent men).
  • Texas Sen. Ted Cruz: 9 percent 58-49 percent men).
  • Retired pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson: 7 percent (60-53 percent men).
  • Former New York Gov. George Pataki: 6 percent (21-15 percent men).
  • Former Hewlett-Packard Co. CEO Carly Fiorina: 5 percent (47-42 percent men).
