It is time for Hillary Clinton to "move on" from her presidential election loss, according to Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn.

In an interview Thursday with Katie Couric, Yahoo's global news anchor, Franken said he remained supportive of Clinton – who a day earlier charged her failed campaign was plagued by "weaponized information."

"I love Hillary. I think she is very prepared to be president of the United States . . . and I think she has a right to analyze what happened, but we do have to move on," Franken told Couric. "We have to move on by proving we are the party that cares about a lot of the people who voted for Donald Trump."

For example, he said, more Americans "say they have seen a ghost" than approve of the GOP healthcare plan to repeal and replace Obamacare.

"We are the ones fighting for average, working people,” he said.

He also criticized Trump's decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate accord, calling the move "sad" and "stupid" – and saying remaining in the deal would have been good for the economy.

"Renewable energy is cheaper than coal," he said. "Coal jobs ain't coming back."
