Vice President Joe Biden and his wife rented out a cottage at their Delaware property to the Secret Service last year for $26,400, and netted $17,944 from the rental, their tax records show.
Tax records for Biden and Dr. Jill Biden were released by the White House Friday, and were part of the $385,072 in adjusted gross income the couple reported for 2012,
The Washington Times reports. The Bidens' arrangement with the Secret Service was first reported in 2011.

Meanwhile, the couple reported paying $87,851 in total federal taxes in 2012, about the same amount they have paid for the past two years. The tax return shows contributions of $7,190 to charity, including $2,400 to the Annual Catholic Appeal for the Diocese of Wilmington, Del., $1,000 to the Westminster Presbyterian Church and another $1,000 to the Northern Virginia Community College Education Foundation.
The Bidens also donated $2,000 in household items to the Goodwill and to the Ministry of Caring, a Wilmington, Del. agency that serves the poor and homeless. The household donations included clothing, kitchen items, glassware, boots, bicycles, toys, and pottery to the Goodwill and furniture and exercise equipment ot the Ministry of Caring, the tax records said.
