Some congressional Republicans might be willing to use the "nuclear option" of impeachment to stop President-elect Donald Trump on his immigration agenda, according to former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo.
In an interview Tuesday with Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV, the Breitbart News columnist warned his concern was not "overly dramatic" because "the power is there in the Congress and they'll use it."

"I worry that their final step, the ultimate sort of, the nuclear option for them . . . would be impeachment," he said. "And depending on circumstances, depending on events, I'm telling you there are Republicans that will go along with it to stop [Trump] and to stop most importantly his immigration agenda."
He decried the opposition in the Senate to eliminating the filibuster, charging the opponents are "putting their marker out before [Trump] is even inaugurated."
The immigration issue continues to be important in light of the recent deadly truck attack in Berlin for which ISIS claimed responsibility, Tancredo said — charging that Germany's Angela Merkel has a policy "to open up those floodgates" to refugees who are filling jobs in that country.
"Look at the risks they are taking in Germany in order to improve the number of people that are available for those low-paying jobs," he said.
