The United States should increase military spending and then use that strength to destroy the Islamic State, author Ronald Kessler tells
Newsmax TV.
"[W]e spend $600 million for our military, we have 60,000 troops alone in Europe and what is it all for if it's not to take out ISIS? Kessler, author of
"The First Family Detail," asked "The Hard Line" host Ed Berliner on Monday.
"[President Barack] Obama recently said ISIS is not an existential threat," Kessler continued. "Well that's totally wrong because ISIS has billions of dollars, they're hiring scientists to develop WMD, for example, with biological weapons that can wipe out the U.S., they could go after key centers. [That's a] very existential threat. I say use our military, give them more money but use them to take out ISIS."

Kessler also says the nation needs to put more money into agencies that can make us feel safe, stating that "the fact is that we have not had a foreign terrorist attack, meaning by a foreign terrorist organization, since 9/11 and the reason is… the FBI is doing a superb job along with the CIA and NSA, which feed them tips.
"People keep talking about, 'well, we should patrol Muslim neighborhoods,' as Sen. [Ted] Cruz proposes. Well that of course only would go after street crime. It has nothing to do with terrorism and people say, 'well they should look at mosques.'
"The fact is the FBI does look at mosques. So I say the FBI is doing the right thing, the secret to fighting terrorism is doing exactly what we're doing with our FBI."
