Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is a "change agent" who will perfectly complement Donald Trump as his vice president, former Michigan Rep. Pete Hoekstra tells Newsmax TV.
Hoekstra told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth on Thursday that his time spent serving in the House with Gingrich when the two worked on the Contract with America give him confidence that he is up to the task of serving as vice president.
"He is the perfect complement to Donald Trump," Hoekstra said. "The table has to be overturned. This is not about rearranging a few papers or whatever. Washington needs a complete turnaround. A Trump-Gingrich ticket is one I would get excited about."

Gingrich on Thursday told Fox News he is being vetted
along with others.
Turning to the question of revoking security clearances for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she heads toward the Democrats' official nomination for president, Hoekstra mentioned his own time as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
"I had 50 people working for me who all had security clearances," he said. "I revoked security clearances for staff who made mistakes or were careless with classified information. I just said, 'Hey, your clearance is gone. I've pulled it; you no longer have access to classified information.'"
The Justice Department announced this week it will not prosecute Clinton for sending and receiving classified information on her unsecured private email server while at State, but FBI Director James Comey said Clinton's actions could have resulted in her server being hacked by bad actors, though his staff found no proof it had happened.
"For Hillary Clinton, it's going to be a very interesting question for [Director of National Intelligence James] Clapper as to whether he's going to brief her on national security issues," he said.
