The Republican Party's definition of conservatism is set to dramatically change if GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump wins his bid for the White House, renowned economist Larry Kudlow tells
Newsmax TV.
"Donald Trump is maybe redefining conservatism," Kudlow, a CNBC senior contributor, said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"There's, as I say, a populist element. He's speaking to Reagan Democrats that the GOP hasn't spoken to in many years, blue collar Democrats who are worried about paychecks and worried about ISIS and Donald Trump speaks to them."
Kudlow's remarks came hours after a new
ABC News/Washington Post poll showed a majority of Republican-leaning voters now believe Trump will be the GOP presidential nominee.
"Trump will bring in a lot of new blood to the GOP column if in fact he is the nominee. That's the way I see it," said Kudlow, who hosts the nationally-syndicated radio program, "The Larry Kudlow Show."
Meanwhile, Kudlow said, Hillary Clinton faces a monster headache if her chief rival Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont wins in the upcoming Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary.
"My crystal ball may not be any better than yours or anybody else, but it just looks to me from the polling data and other things that Bernie Sanders has the big [advantage]," he told Malzberg.
"He's got it in Iowa and he's got it in New Hampshire and if he defeats Hillary in those two states, she's got a huge problem, a huge problem.
"And on top of that, it looks like the FBI is bearing down on her once again [in its probe of her use of a private email server for confidential government business]. And that's not going to go away. So all I can say is it looks like Bernie Sanders is the Democratic front-runner."
Kudlow said the Democratic Party has moved so far to the left, "it really is the Sandinista party."
"Bernie Sanders has capitalized on that. I don't think Hillary really understood it. It's a tidal wave. Donald Trump is more of a conservative populist, by the way. Bernie Sanders is a left-wing socialist majority," he said.
"So this thing didn't turn out the way most of the pundits thought, but whatever, the Dems are in major trouble right now. Absolutely major trouble."
