Ex-PLO Member: Use Spies to Defeat ISIS

By    |   Friday, 13 February 2015 07:24 PM EST

The Islamic State (ISIS) could be defeated without firing a single bullet — by using carefully-placed spies to monitor its members, according to Islamic terror expert Walid Shoebat, a former member of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

"We send sorties over there while ISIS knows how to adapt to them, hide, duck and cover. You blow up all these buildings, but you're not killing many of the jihadists," Shoebat said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Instead, Shoebat said, the use of spies would save money and the intelligence they gathered would help in the capture of ISIS members. His plan, he said, is backed up by passages from the Holy Bible.

Shoebat said that in recent history, the West has erred in attempting to calm Middle East tensions.

"If you study … how the West dealt with the Muslim world starting with removing Saddam Hussein … had you captured Hussein, there would be no problem with insurgencies in Iraq, no Iran problem.... There would be no problems of terrorism whatsoever," he said.

"[But] you removed Hussein and you had a catastrophe.... A quarter of a million people died as a result of the Arab Spring."
