Retired U.S. Army Gen. Paul Vallely says that battling the Ebola threat in West Africa should not rest on the backs of the military.
"I talked to a number of retired officials, general officers who are compatriots as well as others . . . and we've taken a firm stand that this is not a mission, in light of all the other threats to the United States, that should be placed on the military," Vallely told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on
Newsmax TV Tuesday.

"There are tremendous amounts of assets in other organizations, government as well as volunteer, that can go in and do specific work that needs to be done to really neutralize and to fix this Ebola virus so it cannot spread and that's what needs to be done by those experts," he explained.
"They can subcontract others for security, for building any kind of facilities, clearing facilities that need to be constructed or used," he said.
"Our forces need to protect America and they need to be out there, for example, fighting [the Islamic State] ISIS, and we need 100 percent commitment for that," Vallely added.
