Stick a fork in the presidential aspirations of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and billionaire developer Donald Trump — they're done, veteran pollster John Zogby tells Newsmax TV.

Zogby, CEO of Zogby Analytics, said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" that neither candidate has a chance of capturing the 2016 Republican nomination.

"I don't think we have to spend too much time [on Jindal]. He just hasn't carved out for himself a credible position," Zogby said.

"There are layers upon layers of governors. Layers upon layers of social conservatives. He is an Indian-American. As you may know already, Indian-Americans generally vote Democrat in general elections."

As far as Trump, who during his campaign kickoff made a controversial comment about Mexicans who cross the U.S. border, Zogby said, "Let me be very honest with you, this is a travesty. You don't make an announcement to run for president of the United States like this.

"You also don't go out of your way to enrage large groups of people … This is not the way to run a campaign, but apparently it is the way that Donald Trump does — and he will fizzle."

Zogby said the jury remains out on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is expected to announce that he is jumping into the race.

"Not only does he have to be good out there on the stump … and represent that moderate to conservative part of the party, which most often gets the GOP nomination, but things have to also play his way," Zogby said.

"[Former Florida Gov. Jeb] Bush, another moderate conservative, has to fail. [Wisconsin Gov.] Scott Walker, another governor with a more conservative governance model like Chris Christie, has to fail.

"Those things have to play out simultaneously to Chris Christie being good on the stump. Not a likely victory scenario for him, but it is possible."
