Betsy McCaughey: Obama Violated Constitution 'Two Dozen Times'

By    |   Monday, 24 November 2014 12:41 PM EST

President Barack Obama has violated the Constitution 24 times with the changes he's made to Obamacare, says health policy expert Betsy McCaughey.

"The president, for example, has with no authority from Congress, changed Obamacare, his signature health law, two dozen times," McCaughey, the former New York lieutenant governor, told John Bachman and Francesca Page on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Monday.

House Republicans filed a lawsuit against Obama and his administration Friday for allegedly delaying the implementation of the employer mandate without the legal authority to do so.

"Twenty-four times he's violated the Constitution by rewriting this law without the permission of Congress," McCaughey explained.

"Each time the Democratic politicians in Congress, even though they've taken an oath to uphold the Constitution, they've simply gone along with it saying this fix is good and that fix is good and this one will benefit one segment of society, the other fix will benefit somebody else," she said.

"They don't have within their value system the concept of the rule of law," she contends.

"Even when the actual change may benefit people, it's not within the president's authority to make that change," she added.
