Heterosexuals are "under assault" by the small percentage of those who are homosexual, and the media are determined to turn football player Michael Sam into a hero, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh says.
"They're under assault. You say, 'Heterosexuality may be 95, 98 percent of the population," Limbaugh said
on his radio program. "They're under assault by the 2 to 5 percent that are homosexual."

He made the comments Monday while discussing what he described as the media obsession with
Sam coming out as gay as he prepares to enter the NFL draft, and the conservative talk show host asked why homosexuality is even a political issue.
"Why is there a political agenda attached to and driven by homosexuality, and there is no corresponding heterosexual agenda?" Limbaugh asked on his radio program Monday. "Forget minority versus majority. That's not what I have in mind here."
Limbaugh then asked his audience why Sam is a hero to the liberals in the media as well as those in the sports media who are already "mad" over how they think the football player will be treated.
"Even before he's been treated badly by anybody, they're predicting it," Limbaugh said. "There are other sportswriters who are already demanding that the guy act a certain way, be a leader on the issue. To them he has a social, cultural responsibility to be the next Jackie Robinson or Rosa Parks, take your pick, whoever."
