The estranged son-in-law of Paul Manafort has accused the former campaign chairman to President Donald Trump of conspiring to mislead a federal bankruptcy court over investments totaling millions of dollars, USA Today reports.

Jeffrey Yohai made the allegations last week that Manafort and others "have all conspired to mislead this court ... as to their true intentions and motivations."

Yohai is still married to Manafort's daughter, Jessica, though she filed for divorce in March, USA Today reported.

Yohai's allegation centers on four investments in California that are now in bankruptcy proceedings.

Yohai, financed by Manafort and his wife and daughter to the tune of $4.2 million, would buy upscale homes in great Los Angeles, renovate and then resell, USA Today reported.

When Yohai couldn't resell the four homes quick enough, he filed for bankruptcy protection, which got in the way of foreclosure proceedings by the lender that brokered the financing between the Manaforts and Yohai.

Yohai claims Manafort misled him and the court about the funding and ownership of the companies that were poised to handle the bankruptcy rescue operations, according to USA Today.

However, the managing partner of a law firm associated with Manafort's dealings told USA Today that all documentation regarding the transactions have been filed to the court, including that Manafort was to be 100 percent owner of those rescue companies.

There is a Wednesday hearing before the federal bankruptcy court in California's central district to address the matter.

Manafort, of course, remains a hard target of special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating alleged collusion with Russia during the election.
