A British politician who played a key role in getting Great Britain to leave the European Union said Wednesday Americans have a "fantastic opportunity" with Donald Trump's presidential campaign and added he wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton under any circumstance.
"I could not possibly tell you how you should vote in this election ... I will say this. If I was an American citizen, I wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton if you paid me," Nigel Farage said at a Donald Trump rally in Mississippi Wednesday night, reports The Hill.
"In fact, I wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton if she paid me. I think you have a fantastic opportunity here with this campaign."
Trump supported Brexit, which became official in a June referendum. There has not been a timetable established on when Great Britain will leave the EU.
After the Brexit vote, Trump said, "They took back control of their country. It's a great thing."
On Wednesday, Farage said he brought a "message of hope and a message of optimism" from the U.K. "It's a message that says if the little people, if the real people, if the ordinary, decent people are prepared to stand up and fight for what they believe in, we can overcome the big banks."
