Trump Cites Newsmax Poll

Trump Cites Newsmax Poll

Saturday, 08 August 2015 11:36 AM EDT

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Saturday cited the Newsmax poll showing he won the party's first presidential debate on Thursday night.

Trump pointed to the Newsmax poll while blasting RedState leader Erick Erickson for revoking an invitation for Trump to speak at the conservative group's gathering in Atlanta.

Trump named the Newsmax survey along with polls by other major media organizations — including Time, the Drudge Report, and The New York Times — that gave Trump the win in the 10-way debate.

The debate broadcast  drew a record 24 million viewers, "because of Mr. Trump," the statement noted.
