CNN: Iranian Drone Comes Within 100 Feet of US Fighter Jet

An Iranian drone forced a U.S. F/A-18 to take evasive action while attempting to land on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf on Tuesday, CNN reported.

The fighter jet was attempting to land on the USS Nimitz when the drone, which did not appear to be armed, came within 100 feet below the aircraft, forcing the F/A-18 to maneuver several times to evade it, CNN reported.

The drone eventually left the area after officials on the ship took to an emergency radio frequency to issue a warning, CNN reported.
