Trump Slams Freedom Caucus: 'We Must Fight Them'

President Donald Trump lashed out at the conservative House Freedom Caucus and warned members to get on the Republican team — fast.

The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!

NPR noted the caucus, made up of about 36 conservatives, helped kill the White House-backed GOP health care plan.

"We are not an independent group," Rep. Joe Barton, a Freedom Caucus member and the senior member of the Texas Republican congressional delegation, said before the president’s tweet. "We are part of the Republican conference. We have an obligation to govern."
