Cruz, Perry, Huckabee, Jindal Mobilize Christian Vote for Midterms

A number of possible GOP presidential candidates have recorded radio ads urging conservative Christians to vote in November's midterm elections, CBN News reported.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee are heard urging "God's people" to take up their "call" to vote, in the 30-second radio spots for a Get Out the Vote effort by the American Renewal Project.

"The Bible is full of stories of men and women whose faith in God led them to take action during difficult times, trusting in Him for His glory. Today God's people are once again being called to action as we seek to restore the values our nation was founded upon and to honor the legacy of those who have given their lives in defense of our freedom," said Cruz in one commercial obtained by The Brody File.

Meanwhile, Jindal evokes the memory of the nation's Founders in one of his ads.

"Throughout the Bible, God's people are driven to action by their faith in difficult times. Today we're being called to action to restore the values our nation was founded," he said.

The ads will run nationwide on almost 300 radio stations in more than 35 states, with the expectation that they will reach nearly 70 million people.

The American Renewal Project is run by the influential evangelical Christian David Lane. The organization sponsors the popular "Pastors and Pews" events across the country, many in influential primary states.

All four men have spoken at the gatherings, as have other prospective presidential candidates including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.
