Merkel, Obama Talk on Phone About Suspected Attack on Christmas Market

German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke by telephone to U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday about the suspected attack on a Christmas market in Berlin which killed 12 people on Monday, the German government said.

"President Obama assured the German Chancellor that the United States would support Germany in the investigation," said Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert in a statement.
