The Trump administration will not attend a meeting of the United Nation's Human Rights Council as the group prepares to push through at least five anti-Israel resolutions, The Washington Free Beacon is reporting.

The UNHRC's anti-Israel agenda is sparking outrage from those in the Trump administration, who cite the council's bias against Israel, according to the Free Beacon.

The administration's expected boycott of the Monday meeting comes as the council is scheduled to consider "the human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab counties."

"The argument that the U.S. has to participate in bodies like the United Nations Human Rights Council or risk losing our influence over it is ridiculous," the Free Beacon quoted one senior administration official.

"The UNHRC is, like its predecessor, morally bankrupt and the only good news is that its actions have little practical effect in the real world. We've wasted enough time and money on it."

Politico reported that the administration has been considering pulling out of the human rights council because of its anti-Israel agenda.

Countries known for human rights abuses, such as China and Saudi Arabia, are seated on the 47-member council, the website noted.

"There's been a series of requests coming from the secretary of state's office that suggests that he is questioning the value of the U.S. belonging to the Human Rights Council," a former State Department official told Politico.

Meanwhile, the expected Monday boycott is designed to send a message the U.S. will not consider the human rights council legitimate until it ends its anti-Israel policy, the Free Beacon reported.

And it noted, the administration is pressing other counties to criticize the council, as well.
