Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
says in a video interview posted on her Facebook page she was once challenged by Sen. John McCain to a drinking game, which ended in a tie.
In the video, she is asked by someone off camera, "Have you ever won a drinking competition?"
Clinton laughs, and replies she hasn't participated in many, but the "most famous one" is when McCain, an Arizona Republican challenged her to a vodka drinking game while on a congressional trip.
According to the U.K. Telegraph,
just such a game happened in 2004 during a trip to Estonia.
"We have our political differences, but we sat there drinking vodka until we both, I think, agreed to withdraw, in honorable fashion, having, I think, reached the limits that either of us should have had," Clinton said in the video.
"So it was a tie?" the interviewer asked.
"I consider it a tie," Clinton said.
According to the Telegraph's report from 2008, each had four shots of vodka and both "remained correct" afterward, but Clinton was declared the winner, "though the rules of the contest remain somewhat opaque."
