Trump Allows Jimmy Fallon to Mess Up His Hair

By    |   Thursday, 15 September 2016 09:32 PM EDT

Donald Trump got a little messy on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon."

When Trump appeared Thursday for a taping of the late-night show, Fallon closed his interview by asking if he could do one silly thing – since the GOP nominee could be president the next time he appears on the NBC show.

"I'll be gentle," Fallon promised, Deadline.com reported.

"So long as the people in New Hampshire, where I'm going to be in an hour or so — I hope they understand," Trump said, giving in.

Fallon then gave Trump's hair a vigorous shake.

Though Trump is known for being sensitive about his hair, he smiled throughout.

Earlier, Fallon had thanked Trump for giving him fodder for his show, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"You say some shocking things," Fallon said.

Trump, who has come under frequent fire for his verbal tirades throughout his campaign, replied, "But I'm trying not to anymore," the Times reported.

It was Trump's third appearance on the show as a candidate, the Times reported.

Press pool photographers were prohibited from taking a photo after the taping.

Trump's Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, is slated to appear with Fallon on Monday.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
