Former Obama Adviser Axelrod Has Hillary in His Sights

David Axelrod, a former senior adviser to Barack Obama who helped the future president defeat Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primary, appears to have Clinton back in his sights.

The Washington Free Beacon put together a short video of Axelrod criticizing Clinton over the past several months. Clinton is running for president and thus far is the leading Democrat in the race.

In the video below, Axelrod hits Clinton on issues such as what her message is and why she chose to run for the White House.

Story continues below video.

"You know, I've said 'Ready for Hillary,'" Axelrod said in the video's opening soundbite. "Ready for what?"

Later in the video, Axelrod said, "At the end of the day, you have to stand for something, you have to fight for something, people need to know what that is."

Clinton critics have said the former first lady, New York senator, and Secretary of State lacks a true campaign message in these early days of the 2016 race.

When Clinton launched her campaign in April, her handlers — led by campaign chairman John Podesta — urged her to show her human side on the campaign. That has led to more intimate appearances and meet-and-greet sessions with voters, rather than speeches in front of large crowds.

Many have criticized the tactic, saying it's a way for Team Clinton to control everything that goes on around her. She's also taken few questions from the media, which has been another source of criticism.

A poll last week found that Clinton's poll numbers were dropping, which could lead to panic from the left.

Clinton has several other storms brewing around her, regarding her family's foundation and her use of a private email address and server while she was Secretary of State.
