Actor Antonio Sabato Jr. took the stage at the Republican National Convention on Monday to tout Donald Trump, but his fairly standard speech isn't getting as much attention as the remarks he made following his speech where he told ABC News that he "absolutely" believes President Barack Obama is a Muslim.
"We had a Muslim president for
7-and-half-years," Sabato Jr. told
ABC News. He added, "I don't believe the guy is a Christian. I don't believe he follows the God that I love and the Jesus that I love."
Sabato Jr. is not the first to question the president's background, ABC News reports.
Trump himself has — on numerous occasions — questioned whether the president is American or if he is a Muslim.
Under Obama's leadership, Sabato Jr, said the he's "seen this country take a bad turn" and accused the president of entering office with "an agenda to move the country to the left."
"I believe that he's on the other side . . . the Middle East," he said defiantly to ABC News. "He's with the bad guys."
