Everyone in the media seems up in arms over Russia’s alleged involvement in the recent American election. What nobody seems to question is the timing of this outrage.
It seems that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton — their media and other supporters — didn’t care much about real or imagined Russian hacking until Hillary Clinton lost.
Even then, they didn’t show extreme concern until recount efforts and attempts to intimidate the Electoral College failed miserably. Shouldn’t these facts alone make their claims suspect?
In a rare moment, Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan actually got it right when he said, "Russia has a track record of working against our interests, and they clearly tried to meddle in our political system. I strongly condemn any outside interference in our elections, which we must work to prevent moving forward.
"We must also be clear that there is no evidence that there was any interference in the voting or balloting process. We cannot allow partisans to exploit this report in an attempt to delegitimize the president-elect's victory.
"Donald Trump won this election fair and square because he heard the voices of Americans who felt forgotten."
Of course Russia is a dictatorship. Vladimir Putin is a dictator. Like any authoritarian, he seeks to control people. (So did Obama, by the way.)
If Putin wants to control people in his own country, rather than upholding their individual rights, then it stands to reason he’d like to control Americans and American elections as well.
None of this is news.
What is news that the Democrats and their friends in media, and academia, openly talk about Russian hacking as if there’s actual proof that it happened. Not even a shred of evidence exists, as Paul Ryan pointed out.
So why are we talking about it as if it does?
Democratic supporters are trying to delegitimize Donald Trump’s presidency any way they can. Their real goal isn’t to uphold freedom against the evil Putin. All they care about is preserving and expanding Obama’s policies, and the best way to do that is through their so-far-failed attempts to make Donald Trump impotent as president.
While the Electoral College system designed by America’s founders is perfectly fine when a Democratic candidate is elected, Democrats sing a different tune when their candidate loses.
Their mentality is the same as any dictatorship — the ends justify the means.
So long as their leaders with their policies have control, then it doesn’t matter how they get it.
Democrats so desperately want to hold on to power that they’re willing to compromise the legitimacy of our entire electoral system by creating doubt about it. Given President Obama’s casual disregard for the Constitution throughout his eight years in office, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
But it’s still disturbing to watch.
Think about it. One of America’s two major political parties no longer cares about the Constitution or even the presidential election process, so long as they get their way. How is this mentality any different from the mindset of any authoritarian dictator, including the Vladimir Putin who they now suddenly find to be such a villain?
The media elites and other supporters of the Democratic Party who gave us things like Obamacare, immigration law by executive order, government control of the economy, and all the rest could not care less that Vladimir Putin is a dictator.
What they hate is the fact that Putin embarrassed them.
He did so by actually or allegedly exposing Democratic National Committee documents revealing all sorts of crooked and corrupt practices by Hillary Clinton and her presidential campaign.
Amazingly, we’re expected to believe that if those corrupt practices had never been exposed, Hillary Clinton would have won the election. But given all we do know, how could that possibly be a good thing for America?
Americans would have an even more corrupt president than they already knew her to be, but wouldn’t know just how corrupt she truly is.
For Democrats, ignorance is bliss.
Having won control of the White House and Congress for the next two to four years, Donald Trump and Republicans have an unprecedented chance to move America away from rampant corruption. It’s also an opportunity for the Democratic Party to clean itself up, learn from its mistakes and reconsider the unrelenting path of socialistic authoritarianism they put us on during Obama’s two miserable terms.
Be assured that their fake concern for liberty and democracy does not bode well for any such reformation. Heaven help the U.S. if it falls into the hands of such a desperate and crooked group in the future.
